Sandra Bernard Tucker, of Jenner’s Pond Retirement Community, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009.
Sandra was born on July 5, 1940, to Helen Ruth Worrall and Henry Chandler Bernard.
She was a lifelong resident of the Kennett Square area and graduated from the George School and West Chester University.
Sandra taught for 35 years in the Kennett Square area, most recently at the New Garden Elementary School.
She was a birthright Friend and a member of the Kennett Friends Meeting, where she taught Sunday school for many years.
She had been active in the Chester County Hospital Auxiliary Encore shop.
Ms. Tucker is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Nute Yarnall of Cary, N.C., and Melinda Nute Hill of Milton, Del.; four brothers and sisters, W. Charles Bernard of Franklin, Del., Elizabeth Phillips of Dallas, Texas, Henry Chandler Bernard of Exton and Johanna Keltie of Cape May, N.J.; five grandchildren; and many friends.
The funeral will be private for the family.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, Kennett Square.
